DBL - Distributed Ban List DBL is a rating system of rules for the rejik redirector. The main purpose of DBL is to cooperate with the efforts of people who block websites based on their membership in certain groups. Every admin who restricts Internet access using redirector programs faces the problem of where to get ban lists. Typically, such lists are located on the Internet or compiled independently by each administrator. When downloading lists, it often turns out that lists contain errors, and the more lists, the more errors. Each admin has to manually fix them. In addition, you have to independently replenish the lists, adding new rules to them. Imagine a new banner network has appeared, which is not yet present in any list. Thousands of admins, each independently, add one new rule to their lists. In my opinion, this is not very productive. You can draw an analogy with antivirus software: can you imagine that every admin would add new virus signatures to their databases every day, manually? Thus, the idea has matured to make a common list that everyone can replenish and which everyone can use. With one caveat, if you want to use this list, you need to contribute to its development. |
